Option NR1: The Adelaide Salon: 24-Hour Performance (Brighton, December 2024) This opportunity offers a chance to perform in a prime location window to the outside public in Brighton town centre, streamed live for 24 hours duration of the performances.

Option NR2: The Adelaide Salon: Edit (Monthly Art Evenings in Hove) Join us for intimate monthly performance evenings, showcasing a range of art forms including performance, visual art, artist talks, poetry, and film.

Eligibility: The Adelaide Salon is thrilled to invite UK-based performance artists at any stage of their career to apply for two unique performance opportunities. We are seeking innovative, and thought-provoking pieces that reflect diverse themes and artistic expression.

What you get:

OPTION NR1: The performance will take place in a public-facing window in one of Brighton’s most prominent locations. Artists are encouraged to submit proposals for short or long durational performances. No direct audience participation will be permitted due to the nature of the space (please refer to Option NR2 for participatory performances). Due to the public setting, nudity is not allowed (please refer to Option NR2 for nudity-inclusive performances). Performances should not require major space modifications, heavy equipment, or the potential to stain or damage the space. Each artist’s performance will be streamed live. Post-performance, artists will be interviewed for the Adelaide Salon Archives and provided media exposure.

OPTION NR2: Performances will be staged in an intimate setting in Hove, among art exhibitions and other artistic presentations. We welcome both short and long durational performances across diverse subject matter. Audience participation is encouraged in this setting, and nudity is permitted where relevant to the work. Performances must not require major space modifications, heavy equipment, or potential to stain. After each performance, artists will be included in a Q&A session and interviewed for the Adelaide Salon Archives for further exposure. Artists may be invited to participate in future Adelaide Salon events depending on the relevance of their work.
