Leicester City Council’s Festivals & Events Department, BID Leicester and Art Reach, have designed a spectacular event that animates the public realm with illuminated light-based artworks. The festival is seeking artists to devise and deliver an ambitious engagement project to design a storytelling light trail with community participants. The theme of the trail is My Leicester – Future Stories

Brief
Light Up Leicester is a festival of illumination and connectivity. Over four days it will light up the city centre with a trail of illuminated art installations and performances. Art Reach are recruiting up to ten primary schools and community groups in Leicester City to create a storytelling light trail to be displayed in business and shop windows across the city centre. The artist will be required to work in school and community settings to create a story thread with participants and realise a visual trail for festival audiences to follow.
