The BARON PRIZE is a biannual award that recognises artists, photographers, and filmmakers who have created projects investigating gender, sex, sexuality, and identity.
BARON was launched in 2011 as an independent art and photography book publisher exploring sex, sexuality, gender and identity. Today, BARON is stocked worldwide in 20 different countries, and many of BARONS’ books are in collections, including the book collections at MoMA NYC and The LUMA Foundation.Â

The sixth edition of the BARON PRIZE is open to artists, filmmakers, and photographers working in any medium and from anywhere in the world. People over the age of 18 are invited to apply for the 2024 edition of the BARON PRIZE. The winner will be announced in November 2024, and the prize is a £2000 cash prize plus a £1000 Baron gift box containing Baron Books and merch.​
