The three Young Producers will work alongside the Festival Director and Festival Producer. The Festival team will report to the members of Burnley Local Cultural Education Partnership (LCEP) at monthly meetings. We are still in the process of shaping and planning the Festival so there may be some additional tasks which evolve during the process however, we expect the roles to involve the responsibilities listed in the Job Description.
Job Description
- Assist in organising festival programming, including liaising with artists, partners, and volunteers
- Contribute to the selection of artists to lead workshops and projects
- Support community groups to manage production budgets
- Support with logistics, including venue preparation, technical and access requirements, scheduling, and ensuring that events run smoothly
- Support the Festival Producer to ensure all policies, insurance and permissions are in place for each event
- Work with local communities and partners to ensure the festival’s inclusivity and accessibility, ensuring a diverse range of voices are represented
- Contribute to and inform the festival’s marketing strategy by supporting social media campaigns, and assisting with outreach to schools and youth networks.
- Assist in gathering feedback from attendees, artists, and participants to evaluate the festival’s success and impact, and contribute to evaluation reports
Job Requirements
There are no formal educational requirements for this role. We are looking for people who have the following:
- Passion for the arts and a desire to make a positive impact in the youth-led arts sector
- Some experience of participating in arts and cultural activities (this includes visiting venues and being an audience member as well as creating or producing something yourself)
- Interest in event production and project management
- Strong communication skills (both written and verbal)
- Ability to work well both independently and as part of a collaborative team
- Organisational skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks
- A positive attitude
- A connection to Burnley
- Willing and able to travel to locations across Burnley for meetings and festival events
Fees
The role is paid at £16 per hour. Each Young Producer will have up to 155 paid hours (equivalent to around 22 days). You will be paid monthly as an employee of Blaze Arts.
