Job Summary
Crewe Lyceum Theatre for its third year is producing a Summer Youth Project, a large-scale musical brought to life by 80 young actors, singers and dancers. We are looking for a Choreographer for this year’s project Annie.Job Description
2025 brief:
- To provide young people aged eight – 18 years with a two-week creative rehearsal process that is inspiring, empowering and fun!
- To provide young people the opportunity to work with a professional creative team and perform a high-quality production of the musical Annie.
2025 project dates:
- Taster Workshops: Saturday 29th March (12.30- 2.30pm & 3.30pm-5.30pm)
- Auditions – Sunday 4th May (10am-6pm)
- Project rehearsals – Monday 11th August – Thursday 21st August (9am-5pm)
- Show days – Friday 22nd August – Saturday 23rd August
RATE OF PAY – £1900
NI & TAX – The successful applicant must be registered as self-employed and is fully responsible for paying all relevant contributions to HMRC.
TERM – Freelance Contract
Job Requirements
The ideal candidate will have experience of:
- musical theatre choreography
- choreographing largescale community productions
- leading dance with children and young people
- working alongside a director and musical director
- motivating and inspiring a company of mixed abilities and aspirations.
Job Responsibilities
Responsibilities:
- To attend the taster workshop and auditions, delivering a dance workshop
- To contribute to casting the musical in liaison with the Director, Musical Director and Project Producer
- To contribute to planning and conduct rehearsals
- To collaborate with a Director and Musical Director
- To work alongside the production team to conceive the design concept of the production
- To choreograph Annie with 80+ young people for Crewe Lyceum Theatre.
