We are currently recruiting for a Student Services & Welfare Officer.

Essential Qualifications: ―Maths and English GCSE Grade 4/C or equivalent (Level 2)

Job Purpose: As part of the student services team, you will have a crucial role in ensuring that all learners at BCT have a fully supported and positive experience throughout their time with us. The role of student services curriculum support tutor is varied and supported by the whole student services team. Members of the team need to be organised, methodical, punctual and passionate about helping learners develop their vocational and life skills.

General Responsibilities: ―Responding effectively to incoming enquiries via telephone and email (parents, carers, local authorities, students etc.) ―Student welfare and Information advice and guidance as required ―Working within the student services hub as per timetable ―Pastoral support ―Assisting with invigilation duties during exams periods ―Support Student Services Manager with student induction packs, medical forms and updating Arbor appropriately for the new academic year ―Support Student Services Manager to provide student and parent/carer updates ―Ad Hoc admin as required

Job Specific Responsibilities: ―Be the first port of call for bursary, finances and welfare queries ―Complete the assessment and award of all bursary applications for Big Creative Training and its subcontractors ―Support the Student Services Manager with weekly bursary payments where necessary ―Liaising with the safeguarding team through CPOMS regarding financial & welfare issues ―Create and maintain a folder on the Student services drive which contains all of the bursary applications, assessments, evidence and bursary award letters ―Providing 1:1 support to learners who are struggling with financial & welfare issues and signpost as appropriate ―Support the Student Services Manager and the Deputy Director of Study Programme with trips & enrichment activities planning, and risk assessments ―Support the Student Services Manager with Jack Petchey awards

Salary and Days of Work ―28 hours across 4 to 5 days a week for 52 weeks per year ―Pro rata of 25 days of annual leave plus UK bank holidays ―This is a permanent part-time position ―Annual salary FTE £25,000 (actual salary £20,000) ―Start Date ASAP
