About the role:
This is an excellent opportunity to join the team delivering high profile temporary exhibitions at the British Museum.Working in close collaboration with colleagues across the Museum, as well as designers, contractors, and external partners, this is a great moment to play a proactive role in the delivery of innovative, audience-focused exhibitions.
The post holder will be working to manage the successful delivery of all aspects of exhibitions and some Museum-wide public facing projects, from brief to closure and evaluation, including responsibility for budgets.
Job Requirements
About you:
- Degree or equivalent experience
- Considerable experience of managing public facing projects, involving multi-disciplined teams.
- Experience of project processes e.g. risk management, issue resolution, budget management
- Strong communicator at all levels of an organisation – interacting with both internal and external stakeholders.
- Persuasive – ability to influence to achieve “buy-in” to a project.
- Good facilitator and organiser
Job Responsibilities
Key areas of responsibility:
- To develop delivery teams for individual projects and to ensure appropriate input of relevant stakeholders, within and outside the Museum.
- To ensure all projects delegated to the team are completed on schedule within budget and to the highest quality. To make appropriate reports.
- To ensure clear project objectives are developed.
- To prepare schedules showing a project’s critical path and key milestones.
- To plan financial estimates and resources required from the Museum’s technical and specialist staff and from external contractors and consultants.
- To identify and manage risk
