Hours: 37 hours per week
FTE Salary: £37618
Contract: Permanent
The South West Heritage Trust delivers ten temporary exhibitions each year across three sites which contribute to lifelong learning, tell important heritage stories about the South West and its place in the world, and bring great art to Somerset. An extensive engagement programme is offered across the Trust sites in Somerset and Devon.
This post is crucial in aligning the Trust’s exhibitions and events programme with our broader Audience Engagement strategy and Business Delivery Plan and involves wide-ranging collaboration with multidisciplinary teams and external stakeholders.
The successful candidate will be an established professional with a proven track record in directing, curating and delivering exhibitions and coordinating complex engagement programmes. They will thrive in a fast moving, dynamic environment with competing priorities. They will have exceptional interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to negotiate, influence and build relationships with colleagues and partners. Established experience in project management and managing complex budgets and a demonstrable knowledge of the visual arts are essential.

Job Requirements
This post will manage the successful delivery of temporary exhibitions and experiences which contribute to lifelong learning and tell important heritage stories about the South West and its place in the world.
The postholder will coordinate an organisational-wide programme of impactful and innovative engagement activity supporting the delivery of the Trust’s Audience Engagement Strategy and Business Delivery Plan.
Job Responsibilities
- Developing and delivering an ambitious programme of temporary exhibitions at Trust and partner Museums in collaboration with the Trust Design Team.
- Coordinating and administering the development and delivery of a dynamic programme of public events for the Trust.
- Contributing to the development of our knowledge about audiences and potential audiences, making the fullest use of feedback and targeted data collection.
- Supporting marketing and fundraising activities associated with Trust-wide exhibitions and the programme of events and activities.
