Understanding the lasting effects of trauma and how it shapes experiences is important when creating environments where participants feel safe and supported. This course will guide you through embedding wellbeing practices while incorporating an awareness of how trauma can influence behaviours and needs. You’ll explore practical frameworks and tools to enhance wellbeing in your projects or workplace, with a focus on building trust and supporting wellbeing.

Through interactive activities, we’ll also examine how trauma awareness connects with national guidance, such as Public Health Initiatives, and how it can align with sector-specific guidelines and funding priorities.

In this training, you will learn:

  • The Role of Wellbeing: Understand the importance of mental health and emotional wellbeing in creative and cultural projects.

  • Trauma Awareness: Gain insight into the prevalence and impact of trauma and how it can shape participants’ responses and needs.

  • Wellbeing Frameworks: Explore practical models that integrate wellbeing and trauma awareness into your work.

  • Safety and Trust: Learn how to create safe spaces that support participants while considering potential triggers.

  • Using Frameworks to Support Wellbeing: Using creativity and existing models to enhance wellbeing in both face to face and online settings

  • National Guidance Alignment: Understand how wellbeing and trauma awareness link with Public Health Initiatives, funding guidelines, and sector priorities.
