The Booker Prize-winning author of ‘The Sense of an Ending’ and ‘Flaubert’s Parrot’ comes to Foyles for an evening of reflection and conversation to mark the publication of his latest work of non-fiction, ‘Changing My Mind’.

From one of our most acclaimed writers, Changing My Mind is a searching, meditative and wise essay exploring what it means to change our minds: about words, about politics, about books; about memories, age and time. Barnes will be discussing his latest work, published by Notting Hill Editions, in a conversation at Foyles with Alex Clark.

Julian Barnes is the author of thirteen novels including The Sense of an Ending, which won the 2011 Man Booker Prize for Fiction, and Sunday Times bestsellers The Noise of Time and The Only Story. He has also written three books of short stories, four collections of essays and three books of non-fiction, including the Sunday Times number-one bestseller Levels of Life and Nothing to Be Frightened Of, which won the 2021 Yasnaya Polyana Prize in Russia. In 2017 he was awarded the Légion d’honneur.

This event will be chaired by Alex Clark, a literary journalist and broadcaster who writes for the Guardian, the TLS and the Observer.

The event will be followed by an audience Q&A and book signing. Your ticket includes a complimentary glass of wine.
