Known as the second longest running awards ceremony in Australia, the ATOM awards showcases the best Australian and New Zealand screen content by primary, secondary and tertiary education sectors along with many renowned film professionals.

Submissions included feature length documentaries, multimedia videos and factual television programs, with the judging panel critiquing productions in 29 different categories such as Best Primary School Animation, Best Tertiary Short Fiction, and Best Music Video. A general category has also been added for industry professionals.

The winners will be presented with their trophies at two separate IPAF ATOM awards. The Student Award winners will be announced on 30 October in Elsternwick along with an exclusive screening of their production, while the Tertiary and General Award winners will be acknowledged on the 28 November at Red Bennie in South Yarra.

ATOM is an independent, not-for-profit association that promotes media studies and screen literacy. ATOM publishes Metro and Screen Education magazines, which assist media students as they embark on their production endeavors.

The Intellectual Property Awareness Foundation (IPAF) conducts media research and helps create consumer campaigns to support the independent film and television industry.
